 (Peter Gabriel - 1986)

There is one song by Peter Gabriel
which describes the situation of these years:
Big Time -
The place where i come from
is a small town
They think so small
They use small words
-but not me
I'm smarter than that
I worked it out
I've been stretching my mouth
To let those big words come right out
I've had enough, i'm getting out
To the city, the big big city
...
Well it was the 1st of September in 1987 when I was coming to Berlin
and my life changed totally.
The first music I learned to know in Berlin (of course there
is a lot of music before this time: Queen, Genesis/P. Gabriel, Led Zeppelin,
Yes, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Scorpions (feat. Uli Jon Roth), Talking Heads, Level 42, Chaka Khan, Pat Metheny ...) was Tackhead (especially
Gary Clail's Tackhead Sound System) and Boogie Down Productions -
By All Means Necessary. I was hungry for powerful music and I got
to know powerful music.
