A new name - new music. The sound was quite different to the sound of The Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy. It was FUNKY and I liked it from the first moment although I expected music like DHOH.

Home is one of only some few records I can listen from the first to the last song.

I don't know if there was a Home-Tour but these years were the last ones of my study in Geology - staying long periods in the Alps of Austria, Switzerland and Italy. The music of these hot long summers was a taped exSpearience of the last years and it was called "Funko-Grazy-Ghetto-Music". Spearhead is a part of it and for me I tell you what it is - it is my "Dream Team".

I have not seen this gig but this record is one of the most important in my life. I took this power of words and music for full granted. It was exactly the music I was looking for at that time.

Language of violence, California über Alles, Satanic Reverse, Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury, Music and Politics, Water Pistol Man are my favorites and still uptodate.

The 9th of November is world-history. The wall in Berlin was falling down and the situation in Berlin was like exciting atmosphere in the streets. So many people were singing, laughing, hugging ...

Some months later the people became more and more disillusioned.

It was a wonderful summer-night in Berlin, when I have seen Michael Franti the first time. The location is a small concert hall for maybe 200 - 300 hundred people. It was a big performance of words, noise, music and action. I can't remember all or any song but I know that Michael was singing, dancing and playing bass, Rono Tse was doing percussion-things with chains and a big role of metal sheet. During the gig they took people on the stage and they could play any instrument they liked. To work with the chains was most wanted.

Well it was the 1st of September in 1987 when I was coming to Berlin and my life changed totally.
The first music I learned to know in Berlin (of course there is a lot of music before this time: Queen, Genesis/P. Gabriel, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Scorpions (feat. Uli Jon Roth), Talking Heads, Level 42, Chaka Khan, Pat Metheny ...) was Tackhead (especially Gary Clail's Tackhead Sound System) and Boogie Down Productions - By All Means Necessary. I was hungry for powerful music and I got to know powerful music.
