At the end of January Andy V announced via BandsinTown that he is coming to Berlin for a single show in April. The next day I saw that also Mr. Woodnote is playing on the same day and the same show. Wow - two of my favorite artists I would like to see - together at one show.

After a hard working day with a short stop at home to freshen up and leave all unnecessary things at home, I reached Revalerstraße around 9:00 pm by bike - a beautiful sunny day - T-shirt weather - many partygoers. For me it was the first time on the RAW grounds where the Urban Spree is located.

About 2 months ago Ashton Lane announced a German tour with concerts in Neuruppin and Berlin. Hooray was my reaction. The concert in Neuruppin was scheduled for April 14th at the Resort Mark Brandenburg - a wonderful opportunity to get out of Berlin with my wife and spend the weekend in Neuruppin. Hotel Resort was too expensive for us, which is why we rented a room in a small pension a few meters away from the hotel.

With Caddy and our bikes on the big loading area we left Berlin around 14:00 o’clock. On the way there it was still raining heavily, but when we arrived at Neuruppin, the sun was already shining, so that immediately after we had moved into our room, we took our bikes for a short lap in and around the city to eat something tasty.

Today was a historic day for Joseph Bowie & DEFUNKT: 40 years of stage presence. So it should be a special concert and YES it was.

It was also special because this time not only my wife and I were there, but also Ville & Devi (Tickets were a birthday present for Ville), Bengi, Anja and Kalle - my wife's cousin - and his wife. At the last concert here (Uli Jon Roth) there wasn't much going on at 9:30pm and we had the super-stay at the back near the mixer again. Three steps higher than the rest - super-view. That was the goal again this time. Since Defunkt is always full, I was there at 9pm this time (Anja also), but unfortunately the good places were already occupied. Nevertheless, we have established ourselves there. Ville & Devi arrived at 9:30pm and my wife arrived shortly afterwards. Only Kalle & Frau arrived shortly before the start. Two of us could be right at the front of the mixer. The rest was spread out behind it.

Once again I came across this concert by chance. The Quasimodo announces concerts on facebook again and again and then the name appeared: Uli Jon Roth. The next day, I bought tickets for my wife and me.

The concert took place on the last weekend of October and for the night from Saturday to Sunday Orcan was announced, so we didn't go there with the bicycles.

In contrast to the last time we were at Quasimodo at 9:30 pm. No queue at the entrance, the Quasimodo was still very sparse, but there was still time, because the Quasimodo never starts before 10 pm (above there is a theater and when performing there, music from below can be very annoying).

No Dub FX this year in Berlin - only Cologne, Kassel or Leipzig which could be possible. I asked my sister if she would join me in Kassel but she said that the music didn’t fit for her so I decided to go to Leipzig - taking a Hotel nearby and two vacation days for this special event

So well prepared for the day I arrived Leipzig at 4pm - taking a taxi and arrived some minutes later at the Hotel. I had a nice room and enough time to relax before going out for the gig.

At 8:30pm I went to the Werk 2 only 500m away from the Hotel. I got in there and find a nice place just in front of the power amplifier.

I am very sure this was my last gig with KMFDM for a very long time. No KMFDM-classics, only 1 hour appearance, bad sound - no recognizable electronic sound.

Some weeks before I posted on Facebook that I would go to this gig and Anja - one of our best friends also joined this event.

I was a little bit too late so we met inside when KMFDM already began.

I went to the right side at the Nuke where there was some more place and some bar chairs to sit. After a short SMS with Anja about my location she was coming to my place.

Five days before this special event I ordered two tickets for my wife and me. I was very excited to see DEFUNKT again at the Quasimodo - the legendary Jazz-Club in the centre of West-Berlin - after more than 3 years.

The gig should start at 10 pm but we arrived there 15 min later - still with people waiting at the entrance.

The gig was sold out therefore it was difficult to find a good place. We got something to drink when they started short after 10:30 pm.

At the first song we didn't see much of the band so we tried to find a better place which was found near the sound amplifier - three steps more upper - so a good place to stay and to take some pictures and videos.

Two or three years ago I had already tickets for Balkan Beat Box but I was totally ill and couldn't go to their gig. I gave the tickets to my wife and she took some colleque with her. She found it not that good because it was too loud for her.

This year I was going alone because my wife couldn't come due to their work at evening school.

I arrived at the Bi Nuu at 9:10 pm and they had already started.

I ordered a beer and was looking for a good place to watch, listen and dance.

3 weeks before my wife and I tried to get tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers here in Berlin and surprisingly there were still tickets left for the upper ranges of the Mercedez Benz Arena. The view to the stage should be straight ahead so we decided to take two of the last tickets.

It was a dry Thursday evening here in Berlin. I arrived early enough from work - gates were opened already at 6 pm but we were only two hours later ready to go - prepaired with our tickets and a little remote glass to have a better view to the stage.

One bad point this evening was that my wife had strong headache but she said it would be ok.

We arrived at the MBA at 8:30 pm and a lot of people were still arriving so our thought was that they would not play yet.

For a short moment we were shocked at entrance because the card checkers asked us while showing our tickets for our identification papers which we left at home but they were gracious and let us in.

What a phantastic night - what an awesome gig.

It took more than 2 years to see Dub Fx again after that two day special in 2014.

I was not satisfied with their venue-selection. Two gigs years before with a bad accoustic made me feel sceptical that this gig would sound better but in the end I was instructed better.

My job day ended as normal at 8pm when I arrived at home. I prepared myself for the gig (only neccassary´things were in my pockets). I arrived there a quater before 9pm when Andy V was making some good beats & grooves on the stage - also playing his sax. It took some time to get something to drink but than I found a good place on the right side - on the two steps stage where the bar was located.
