Peter Gabriel & New Blood Orchestra at O2 World / Berlin

Already in January I got a newsletter from the German Genesis Fanclub that Peter Gabriel would be on tour in May and they get special tickets for the show. So I ordered two tickets (thanks Christian from Fanclub) - got them in March and I knew that we would be in the second line before the stage and that I would see him again after 25 years (my first Berlin gig in 1987).
Before Gabriel and the Orchestra started to play he introduced one of his female singers who sang two songs supported by piano. They were staying on the stage before the big security fence which opened immediately when she was leaving the stage.
The stage was full of video installations where motives concerning to the songs were shown.
Peter Gabriel and the Orchestra started to play with the Bowie classic "HEROES" followed by "WALLFLOWERS" and some other songs which I didn't know by name but from the lyrics and melody. In the middle of the show he played his hits from the "SO" record like "MERCY STREET" and "RED RAIN" followed by "SOLSBURY HILL".
In between the songs he told the audience they will play a new song the first time live "THAT'LL DO" by Randy Newman.
Than he introduced "BIKO" with a reference to the Arabic facebook revolution. When it comes to the chorus I think all 7000 people of the audience put their fist in the air. The curtain fall and the audience was enthusiastic clapping their hands to hear more.
They came back with two more songs from the "SO" record: "IN YOUR EYES" and "DON'T GIVE UP". The last song was an instrumental called "THE NEST THAT SAILED THE SKY". Gabriel was coming back to the stage and sat down on the piano so everyone thought he would started to play another song but nothing happened anymore. He was leaving the stage, the curtain felt, the lights were switched on and other music was played. That was the only disappointing thing of a marvelous good concert.
Notice: All his introductions for the songs were in German which he was reading from a paper. In between the songs he always was drinking from a big cup some coffee or tea (think he preferred tea). He had a small table near his main stage place where he put the cup and some other things. And the Orchestra was one part from London and the other part from Frankfurt. Me, my wife and two of our friends liked it very much. I think I don't have to wait 25 years again to see him one more time.
