Groundation at C-Club / Berlin

Some weeks ago, Michael (Versace) Ver Steegt wrote me a msg on Facebook that he is coming to Berlin/C-Club as the Live Sound Engineer for Groundation. Well, Friday night - I told him I will be there.
I didn't know Groundation before so I started to listen to some songs on Internet. Reggae music - so I knew I would like it.
When I was coming home from work this evening I saw my wife sick in bed and our children without something to eat, so I made a soup before I was leaving home for the gig.
I arrived there at 9 pm, bought a ticket and went in - saw Michael previously (first at the mixer and than he was on stage) but before I said Hello to him I ordered a beer and went outside to the beergarden to smoke a cig.
After coming back there was the point we said Hello and hugged us after almost 4 years (last time in Cologne 08 with MFSH). He asked me if I had seen his msg on Facebook, that he put me on the guestlist - well, I missed this but I got a good feeling to have supported the band.
Before Groundation started to play Michael had a lot to do with soundcheck so I got a new beer. I was standing the whole time near the mixer on the right side - nice view to the stage and always ready to have a talk with Michael.
There were a lot of people in the C-Club - wow - of course some rasta dreads but also "normal-boring" people like me (hahaha).
Groundation was wonderful, the two background singers, the two horns and of course the frontman (have to check his name) give the night a special feeling. I could dance all the time - people were totally friendly - even when I was ordering a new beer I could get back to my place near the mixing area.
They played more than two hours and made 3 encores - audience was totally enthuiastic. The last encore was the Marley classic "Get up stand up". After this they really finished
I went out with Michael - one more beer (already almost drunken cos I didn't eat anything before) - and we talked a lot about the situations now and in the past. We decided to eat something. So we had to walk a little bit and stopped at Bergmannstrasse where we ate Pommes Frites and meal. It was almost 2 am when we said goodbye - the whole night was absolute phantastic for me. Thanks Michael, thanks Groundation.
Here are some pictures of the show - check them out.
