CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - Akron-bred rock duo The Black Keys have announced the second leg of their “No Rain, No Flowers Tour,” which includes a stop at Blossom Music Center on Friday, Aug. 22.
Singer-songwriter-guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will open the show. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21. at livenation.com.
The six-time Grammy-winning duo of West Akronites drummer Patrick Carney and singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach also have released a new tune, “The Night Before,” the peppy lead single from the band’s upcoming 13th studio album “No Rain, No Flowers.”
The tour and album are a bit of a reset for the Keys whose last album, “Ohio Players” released in 2024 led to some public embarrassment. The band changed management teams and announced their “International Players” arena tour, which quickly fizzled and was eventually canceled due to low ticket sales.
Also in 2024, The Black Keys played their first hometown gig in more than a decade at the Akron Civic Theatre in October. But the free show was a private affair on behalf of Stand With Crypto, leaving many hometown fans outside the theater doors.
The duo promised to be back with a revised tour, but an entirely new album and tour cycle hadn’t been previously teased. The release describes the new album as an “especially personal project for the Black Keys, and sees the band craft its most ambitious and adventurous album yet, braiding together the pair’s sprawling, eclectic musical influences.”
