MonoNeon released a funky new single, “God Reason,” through Floki Studios (Color Red). The colorful bassist recruited Katt Williams, George Clinton and James Fauntleroy for the song that arrived with an animated visualizer created by Cody A. Banks.
MonoNeon heard comedian Katt Williams talk about “God reason” while being interviewed on a podcast and began incorporating the idea – an overarching term for explaining life experiences – into the basics of new track.
“The reason... God Reason... makes you question everythang, only to realize it was never meant to understand it, just live it and feel it,” MonoNeon explained.
Mono sent the track to Williams, who responded by joining the bassist at Memphis recording studio Court Square to rap on the song. Funk icon George Clinton of Parliament/Funkadelic was sought to provide an intro for the track. A chance encounter in a hotel lobby in Memphis with James Fauntleroy prompted the addition of his verse.
