The band are fresh from supporting long-time CLASH faves Everything Everything on their epic December tour, and will play a burst of headline shows this Spring – including a London headline show at Islington Assembly Hall on May 22nd.
It’s all to coincide with their incoming album ‘The Prize’, constructed during quicksilver studio sessions with producer Steph Marziano.
The title song is out now, and ‘The Prize’ seems to distill Prima Queen’s pop-edged indie elixir down to a fine essence.
A bolshy, immediate, and refreshingly melodic return, ‘The Prize’ taps into the innate chemistry that drives Prima Queen forward. The band comment…
“Writing ‘The Prize’ felt kind of magical – we thought we had finished the album but this song suddenly came to us while we were writing in the studio with our producer Steph (Marziano) and we knew it had to be the album title-track. It felt like it tied all the other songs together in a really special way. It’s a song to remind you that YOU’RE THE PRIZE which is easy to forget sometimes!”
