Franco-English artist Frenchie has announced the release of her debut album ‘Frenchie’, out March 28th 2025.
With the album reveal comes the replenishing effects of jazz-inflected new single, ‘Love Reservoir’, featuring vocals by London-based Swede Frida Touray. Produced by jazz guitarist Femi Temowo (Amy Winehouse, SAULT), Frenchie writes evocatively about a lived-in romance that deserves some care and restoration.
Of the single, Frenchie says: “‘Love Reservoir’ lyrically explores the theme of seeking to refuel and revitalise a relationship’s emotional reservoir, symbolising a desire to overcome challenges and nurture love and connection. Femi and I wrote the song together – and I knew I wanted my talented friend Frida Touray to feature on the track. When she came down to record her vocals, the song was elevated to a whole new level.”
Since her debut in 2019, Frenchie has crafted effusive, timeless songs that draw from neo-soul, RnB, jazz and soft rock luminaries like Cleo Sol, Lauryn Hill, and Khruangbin. Her debut album brings her laid-back romanticism into sharp focus with a cadre of close collaborators.
Co-produced with Femi, ‘Frenchie’ features contributions from keys player Luke Smith (Corinne Bailey Rae, Chaka Khan), drums courtesy of KOKOROKO drummer Ayo Salawu, backing vocals from friends and frequent collaborators Hohnen Ford, Friday Touray, along with further instrumental and production contributions from Aaron Taylor, Alex Maydew, Chris Hyson, Jas Kayser, amongst others.
