Nigerian artist Flavour and DJ Oskido collaborate on ‘Let's Dance’

While Nigerians and South Africans continue to beef about anything and everything on social media, musicians are coming together to bridge the gap.
Nigerian superstar Flavour and legendary South African music pioneer, DJ Oskido, have joined forces to create the sultry dance track, “Let’s Dance”.
The single also features the iconic Brazilian drumming ensemble, Olodum.
The summer anthem is the second single off the historical upcoming EP, “One Drum”, which is an offering put together by the Afreximbank Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX).
The EP is a collaborative project that celebrates the rich musical legacy of Africa and its diaspora by bridging cultures and genres.
The project boast an extraordinary line-up of artists from Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil, the USA and Europe and it will highlight the enduring rhythms and musical traditions that have been carried across continents, from the magical drums of Brazil to the reggae and soul of the Caribbean and the global beats of Afrobeats and amapiano.
“Let’s Dance” is a true embodiment of global musical fusion.
According to a media statement: “The track seamlessly blends the infectious rhythms of samba, rumba and marimba with the unmistakable sounds of Afrobeats and Igbo-highlife, creating an irresistible anthem that transcends borders.”
The summer banger encourages listeners to embrace the common language of music and dancing, bringing people from all walks of life together in a worldwide celebration with its upbeat lyrics and powerful sounds.
Aside from “Let’s Dance”, the “One Drum” tracklist consists of five other songs, namely, “Coming Home”, which is a deeply emotional Afro-reggae track featuring Lauryn Hill, Jo Mersa Marley, Stephen Marley, Thee Legacy and YG Marley.
“Stop Stressin”, is a powerful reggae and Afro-house track by Stephen Marley and Olodum, produced by DJ Oskido and Commissioner Gordon, it delivers a message of resilience and positivity.
“Money (Besa)”, is an EDM-inspired anthem by Sofiya Nzau, sung in Kikuyu.
“Afro-Wave”, which has already been released, is a vibrant collaboration by the Scorpion Kings, DJ Oskido, TmanXpress, X-Wise, Phila Dlozi and Olodum. It blends Afrohouse with amapiano and isiZulu lyrics.
