Reggae singer Bugle released his fifth studio album, Apex, via Evidence Music on Friday (August 23).
Throughout his career, the Nuh Compatible singer has distinguished himself with music that delves deep into the human experience. Apex continues this tradition, offering a nuanced exploration of love, life, faith, and social justice.
Standout tracks include Hopes (Small World) with Capleton—which interpolates lyrics from the Fireman’s 2004 hit That Day Will Come—andThank You Lord—a collaboration with Buju Banton and Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley. The album also features a remix of Barrington Levy’s iconic 1984 track Murderer, retitled Brutal Murderer.
An official music video for Thank You Lord was released on Friday.
The 16-track album also features Maxi Priest, Tifa, and more.
“Each collaboration adds a unique layer to the album, making it a must-listen for fans of the genre,” a release noted. “The fusion of these iconic voices with Bugle’s thoughtful songwriting promises an unforgettable listening experience that will resonate with audiences worldwide.”
“Your continued support turns dreams into reality,” Bugle said in the release. “Music is a unique prescription that everyone fills. I carefully choose the words I use in my songs because I want to educate as much as I entertain.”
He previously told DancehallMag that his approach to album production was organic. “I usually produce my albums with the help of any producer I’m recording for at the time if I think the song fit that particular project. For me, my albums are spontaneous and maybe that’s why them so powerful, so I am working with the same energy,” he explained.
