Eminem has announced the release of his twelfth studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace)", set to drop on Friday, July 12th.

The 19-track album is going to explore the psyche of Eminem's alert ego, "Slim Shady". The tracklist, revealed by Apple Music on July 10th, features some interesting titles, including "Lucifer", "Guilty Conscience 2", and "Somebody Save Me".

One standout track on the album is "Guilty Conscience 2". It is expected to be a sequel to Eminem's 1999 hit single which featured a collaboration with Dr. Dre. Given Dre's active involvement in the production of Eminem's latest work, the expectations are high for what the two musical artistes will deliver.

In the lead-up to the album's release, Eminem has already dropped two singles. One of them is "Houdini", released on May 31st. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Charts and became a topic of discussion for its lyrics and controversial references. Some parts of the song reference the 2020 shooting incident between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez.

The second single, "Tobey", featuring Big Sean and BabyTron, was released on July 8th, marking Eminem's first collaboration with BabyTron and his fourth with Big Sean.

Who is Slim Shady?

Slim Shady is Eminem's alter ego that he introduced to the public in the late 1990s. This Slim Shady persona that Eminem took on, allowed him to explore darker and more controversial themes in his music. The album title, "The Death Of Slim Shady", suggests a farewell to Eminem's alter ego.

Which other artistes have alter egos?

Eminem isn't the only artiste who has developed an alter ego and even named albums after this persona. Beyonce has created an alter ego called "Sasha Fierce", to represent a more confident version of herself. She even dedicated her third studio album to this alter ego, naming it, "I Am... Sasha Fierce".

Additionally, Nicki Minaj also has an alter ego called "Roman Zolanski" which she used a lot during her rookie years.
