Dolly Parton has joined forces with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus yet again. This time, the country music icon has released a new version of 2013 single "Wrecking Ball." It's the latest track from Parton's forthcoming album, Rockstar, which arrives in full on November 17. Check out Parton's take on "Wrecking Ball" with Cyrus below.
Parton and Cyrus performed "Wrecking Ball" together in a medley on Miley's New Year's Eve Party, which Cyrus hosted to ring in 2023. In a statement posted to social media, Parton compared her reaction to hearing "Wrecking Ball" for the first time to her first hearing Whitney Houston singing "I Will Always Love You
Rockstar's release comes a year after Parton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She had tried to decline the honor, telling fans, "I don't feel that I have earned that right." She later reversed her decision. The album features a long list of guests, among them Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, Sting, and several more. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited to join Parton on "Let It Be," with "What's Up?," "Magic Man," among the other singles to preview the LP.
