The If There's Any Justice singer is set to release his brand new material for the first time in 11 years and Future Love is the perfect jam to usher in spring with its bouncy, upbeat vibes inspired by 80s funk.

Future Love will serve as the lead single for Lemar's seventh studio album, Page In My Heart, which is set for release on March 24.

Teasing his new musical chapter, Lemar said: 'With this new album, I wanted to make something for anyone who ever bought Dedicated, as this year is 20 years since its release. I thought I'd like to make something for the people who got behind that album, something that they would appreciate and like.

'That's really reflected in the first single Future Love. It's more uptempo, it's got that soulful feel, it's a bit looser, a bit Chaka Khan. A bit 'Dance (With U)'... it's got that kind of energy to it.'

Lemar, 44, thanked fans for their 'patience' with it being over a decade since he treated them to new music.

'I always say soon, soon, soon, soon". And they're like, "well, when's that?",' he said.

'I've been doing some acting, I've done other TV bits which they have supported, but I didn't want to announce a show celebrating the first album without giving them something new. I'm always writing songs, but I've been writing songs for others.

He added of his new body of work: 'This album is about me and my relationships, and my fans' relationships, and hopefully what they've been going through as well in my dialogue with them.

'It really is a page from my heart.'

Lemar rose to prominence after competing on BBC One series Fame Academy. He went on to release the hit songs It's Not That Easy, Dance and If There's Any Justice, and won three Mobo Awards and three Brits.

During his hiatus from music, the crooner has been busy producing music for other artists and made a string of TV appearances such as Little Darlings, which aired on Sky Cinema in 2022, and also hosted his own podcast The Lemar Show.

Lemar's new single Future Love is out on February 7, and his album, Page In My Heart, is set for release on March 24. He's also performing two live shows in Manchester and London on April 27 and 28, with tickets on sale this Friday at 10am.
