On Tuesday and Wednesday, Buckethead, Brain and Bill Laswell reunited as PRAXIS for the first time in 16 years at Sony Hall in New York City.
The concerts were in benefit of bassist, iconic producer, and sonic visionary Bill Laswell, who was seated during the performances and currently has a gofundme campaign running to help aid him after the COVID-19 pandemic hit him hard both physically and financially.
During the performance on Wednesday, Aug. 31, the ensemble performed for an hour and 22 minutes showcasing a combination of funk and metal that could only be achieved through absolute musical mastery. Over the evening, which was pro shot and shared on youtube and livestreamed, PRAXIS performed long-form complex songs including "Bucket slap in E," "Animal Behavior," "Dead Man Walking," "God of Thunder," "Toytime" and more.
