The Motet's Ryan Jalbert Releases 'Jalbatross' EP

The Motet's Jalbatross project issued its self-titled debut EP. Jalbatross features six instrumentals composed by Jalbert while off the road due to the pandemic.
Jalbert prepped the material on Jalbatross for fun with no particular project or purpose in mind. He then decided to book a two-day studio session in July 2021 and recruited family and friends to back him on his first Jalbatross release. Ryan is joined on the EP by his brother drummer Colin Jalbert, old pal Tim Philpott on bass and The Motet's Joey Porter on keys.
The EP was recorded with all four musicians in the same room together direct to tape using analog gear. Ryan Jalbert mixes the funk for which he's known with his passion for roots dub, indie and psychedelia on the new release. Stream Jalbatross below:
