All seven albums by Reg Mombasa and Peter O'Doherty (the famous brothers behind Mental As Anything) are now being released on coloured vinyl globally by Demon Music.
Demon was formerly owned by Elvis Costello, a fan and one-time producer of Mental, and is now ensuring fans across the world can hear Dog Trumpet's back catalogue on record for the first time.
What you need to know -Dog Trumpet's seven albums are all being released on vinyl for the first time -Demon Music - formerly owned by Elvis Costello - has bought the global rights -Their last record, Great South Road, was released in 2020
While Mental have had enduring success through the timeless hit 'Live It Up', Dog Trumpet themselves have toured internationally, recently performing at SXSW.
Produced by Peter and written by both of them, their debut album Two Heads One Brain sums them up, the brothers having an intuitive melodic connection that infuses their music with a classic timelessness.
Offering an eclectic blend of rock, psychedelic folk and semi-abstract blues; whimsical, political, curious, intimate, scientific, erotic and witty, the pair are part of a long tradition of left-field song writers and storytellers relative to the canon of work by such acts as the Kinks, Nick Lowe, Squeeze and John Prine. Both highly-regarded visual artists, Mombasa is also renowned for his work with the clothing label Mambo.
