The Wimbash Music Festival to support local music programs in New Haven

(WTNH) - Keeping music alive in the Elm City! The WimBash Music Festival is raising money to support music programs in New Haven's public school district.
For over 14 years, Grammy nominee, and visionary Doug Wimbish bestowed the passion, culture, integrity, and soul of music to thousands of students in need through the WimBash Music Festival Series.
This year's festival kicks off at noon on August 18th on Long Wharf Drive in New Haven.
The WimBash Music Series and is supported through sponsorships, volunteers, and donations. The event is free.
When talking about finding love for music, founder and president of the WimBash Music Festival Doug Wimbish says "It only takes a moment to give that spark to a kid."
