PALS: Prince and Chaka Khan recorded a series of songs before his death - GETTY

The soul legend, who enjoyed a massive hit with the Prince-penned I Feel For You, recorded tracks with the legend before he died last year.

Now the Chicago singer plans to unveil the material next year.

Chaka, below with the artist, told me: “I own half an album that we did together, recorded at my house, so we will be doing that, probably next year.”

A load of unreleased Prince material is still waiting to see the light of day due to legal issues.

Chaka may get around this because she is launching her own independent record label, called iKhan Sounds.

Fans will get to enjoy all Chaka’s big hits including I’m Every Woman when she tours the UK, kicking off at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on Wednesday.

NEW RELEASE: Chaka wants to release the tracks with Prince next year

She said: “It’s half songs from my Rufus era and half my old stuff.”

We will also get to see the star as a judge on new BBC talent show Pitch Battle shortly.

She explained: “It sounds like a pretty cool show.

“It’s a choir competition.

“I don’t know what to expect because I haven’t judged yet.

“I come back in August, but so far it seems like good work.”

We should be treated to some big collaborations with top DJs soon, too.

But Glasto remains her big target.

She said: “I’d love to do Glastonbury, it’s up to my agent.”

Catch Chaka at Bridlington Spa (June 10) and Newcastle (June 12).
