If you’ve spent any time playing FIFA 17 (and judging by the ridiculous sales figures, there’s a decent chance you have), you will have heard Balkan Beat Box’s infectious gypsy punk.
While you’ve been perfecting your championship-winning formations, I Trusted You has been keeping those million-dollar toes tapping. But soundtracking the top-of-the-table video game is only the beginning for this Israeli-born, New York-based trio.
Tamir Muskat, Ori Kaplan and Tomer Yosef released new album Shout It Out on their own Monkey Business label in November this year. The new LP marked a renewed desire to take their unique mix of musical traditions and modern sensibilities (think Klezmer and Balkan folk fused with hip-hop and dancehall beats) to the masses. Multiple millions of online streams for I Trusted You is clearly helping that ambition come to fruition.
