Wimbash Festival in West Haven to feature Living Colour's Doug Wimbish

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Big crowds are expected Sunday for the first-ever WimBash Beach Festival at Old Grove Park in West Haven.
Joining us Sunday on Good Morning Connecticut are Doug Wimbish, the bassist for the Grammy award-winning band Living Colour, and the Mayor of West Haven Ed O’Brien to talk all about the event.
Doug Wimbish is the bassist for grammy award Living Colour which is on tour with Aerosmith right now. Corey Glover the lead vocalist of Living Colour will also be performing with Doug doing some of their biggest hits. Wimbish has played with the Sugar Hill Gang, Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Joe Satriani just to name a few.
Money raised from the raffles and donations and tee shirt sales will go to the West Haven School music programs.
The best local talent will also be showcased at the Wimbash. Chemical Z featuring John McCarthy on guitar and Heather Joseph on vocals, Maxx Explosion and Tears Fall Down a group of local kids from West Haven aged 12 – 14 which are talented way beyond their years. There will be a variety of food trucks as well as a Beer Garden for the first time at a West haven concert.
The festival runs Sunday from 4-9 pm. It is a free all-ages family event where everyone is invited to participate in raffles, purchase T-shirts and other opportunities to donate to West Haven’s school music programs.
