Swedish hard rock heroes Europe will release their first album in nine years, ‘Come This Madness’, on Friday 25th September 2026 via Silver Lining Music / Hell & Back Recordings.

The band’s 12th album features 11 tracks and special guest appearances from Europe’s fellow countrymen, Ghost leader Tobias Forge and Opeth’s Mikael Akerfeldt.

‘Come This Madness’ was recorded at RMV Studio, the Stockholm-based recording facility founded by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Ludvig Andersson, with producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein, The Cult, Opeth), and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Van Halen, Metallica) on mixing duties.

Europe’s founding member and frontman Joey Tempest says: “It was a true pleasure working with Tom (Dalgety).

“He’s creative, musical and incredibly intuitive – he really became a sixth member of the band during the writing and recording of this album. We even invited him to co-write on some of the songs.”

As played today on Planet Rock, the first single from the album is the stadia-ready anthem ‘One on One’.

“‘One On One’ is definitely one of my favourite tracks from the album,” enthuses Joey Tempest. “The power and feel is fresh, but some of the melodies bring me back to where it all began.

“Lyrically, it’s perhaps not filled with as much escapism as early Europe. These lyrics automatically ended up being more of a reflection of the times we live in today.

“Ever since ‘One On One’ was just a demo, we’ve stayed with it… never gave up on it, and elevated it to a place where it belongs: a high-flying, classic hard rock track.”

‘One on One’ comes with a cinematic video starring acclaimed Swedish actor Peter Stormare, who has starred in the likes of Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Minority Report, 8MM, and Armageddon.

“We always knew Peter loved rock music, and when his name came up it just felt right,” continues Joey. “We wanted to approach this from a different angle – something more stripped back and unexpected.”

Europe are also playing a string of European shows throughout 2026 as part of The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour.

The UK dates include a headline slot at Stonedead Festival on Saturday 29th August, plus indoor concerts in Glasgow, Wolverhampton and London in the autumn. Head to Planet Rock Tickets to check ticket availability.
