Global conscious artist Nattali Rize returns with her powerful new single “This Sound,” featuring the late Jo Mersa Marley, a bold anthem of unity and resilience produced and driven by the unmistakable bass of Stu Brooks (Danny Elfman, Dominic Fike, Dub Trio).
Taken from her recently released album LIBERATE (March 7, 2025), “This Sound” is a hard-hitting, undeniably tough track that grooves deep – and whose lyrics hit even deeper. Recorded partially at the legendary Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica, the song was born when Rize joined forces with 2x Grammy-nominated producer and bassist Stu Brooks to create the powerful bed track. Recognizing the perfect synergy, Nattali invited Jo Mersa Marley to lend his incredible energy and vocals, blessing the collaboration with a spirit that will echo for generations to come.
“This Sound” is a call to awaken – a sonic reminder that the frequency we tune into shapes the world we live in,” says Rize. “Working with Stu and Jo amplified that intention even further. This is a sound to burn down oppressive systems and light the way forward to unity, oneness, and a reality of One Love.”
“This Sound” received its live debut at Jo Mersa Marley’s birthday celebration concert on March 8, 2025, at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston – an intimate and powerful evening hosted by Stephen Marley and featuring the Marley Brothers alongside a star-studded lineup of Jamaican artists honoring Jo’s life and legacy. Both Nattali and Stu were deeply honored to perform the track live for the very first time at such a historic event.
Known for her electrifying live performances and unwavering message of empowerment, Nattali Rize continues to break musical and cultural boundaries. With “This Sound,” she delivers not just a song, but an experience – designed to elevate, unify, and inspire audiences worldwide.
