Pennsylvanian rock powerhouses Halestorm have premiered their anthemic new single ‘Darkness Always Wins.’
Produced by esteemed studio wizard Dave Cobb (Slash, Rival Sons, Europe), ‘Darkness Always Wins’ is the first taster of Halestorm’s sixth studio album, which will be released later this year via Atlantic Records.
A cinematic rock anthem of the highest calibre, ‘Darkness Always Wins’ starts with plaintive piano plonks, an ‘In The Air Tonight’-esque beat and Lzzy Hale's astonishing pipes before it builds in intensity with searing guitars and fiery vocals.
Commenting on the weighty lyrics, Lzzy Hale says: “‘Darkness Always Wins’ is not a song of hope, nor is it a song of despair.
“It is reality. History repeating. Evil prevails and the good depart first. But we are not doomed as long as we persist and keep our fires burning. The war may not be won in this lifetime. But our mission is to pass the torch so that those who follow have a light to fight with.”
