Fresh from returning their latest offering last month, Transatlantic duo Prima Queen have now confirmed details of their debut album! The band - made up of Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden - will release ‘The Prize’ through their new label home of Submarine Cat Records on 25th April 2025.
The album comes produced by Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Picture Parlour, Nell Mescal), will follow last year’s ‘Not The Baby’ EP, and is set to be - in their own words - a record that “screams empowerment and strength”. “We’re beyond excited to finally be releasing an album out into the world!” the pair have said, in a press release. “We’ve been working on it for such a long time and it feels like a real statement of our growth, both separately and together. It’s been our little secret for a while now and we can’t wait for it to be yours!”
Alongside the new of their debut, the band have shared their newest single ‘Ugly’, which will feature alongside last month’s release ‘Fool’ on the record. “‘Ugly’ is about trying to maintain a festival romance in the real world,” the band explain. “It was written after the ending of a situationship with an uneven power dynamic and after being let down repeatedly, coming to the painful acceptance that it will never be what you hoped for.”
