The Murlocs offered the final preview of their coming album Calm Ya Farm with the swirling psychedelic single, "Queen Pinky". The new album from the King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard offshoot led by multi-instrumentalist Ambrose Kenny-Smith is out on Friday via ATO Records.

"Queen Pinky" makes good on The Murlocs' promise to take the band out of the garage on Calm Ya Farm. The opulent grand piano that starts off the track strikes a more refined tone, with Beans drummer Matt Blach's jazz-inspired rhythms giving the single a decadence fitting of the video's upscale music club setting. The Hayden Somerville-directed video ties in with the song's intention as a serenade from the newly married Ambrose to his wife, who is actually responsible for the album's title "Calm Ya Farm." In the video, Kenny-Smith croons to the lone audience member who turns out to actually be him, reflecting the fact that to love another is to love yourself and that perhaps one's partner is even a reflection of one's self.

Calm Ya Farm continues to reveal itself as a departure for The Murlocs on their third album in as many years. The garage-psych outfit, which also boasts KGLW bassist Cook Craig alongside musicians from other Australian rock notables like Orb and Crepes, initially pitched the new disc as an homage to cosmic country cross-pollination of the 1960s from bands like The Byrds. Combined with lineage from classic U.K. pub rockers and ornate influences like the ones found on "Queen Pinky", The Murlocs continue to stamp their passports as musical citizens of the world.

Meanwhile, Ambrose and Cook's other band recently announced details of their "heavy as fuck" new album, PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation.
