Tuesday marked 4/20, the international holiday for marijuana enthusiasts everywhere. One of the many participants around the world was pot-smoking, peace-loving hippie Todd Snider, who celebrated the holiday with the release of "Stoner Yodel Number One". The track is set to appear on Snider's 19th studio album, First Agnostic Church of Hope and Wonder, out on Friday via Aimless Records/Thirty Tigers.

In "Stoner Yodel Number One", Snider continues his foray into the fatback sounds of funk and reggae of the 60s and 70s that permeates First Agnostic Church. In a recent interview with Live For Live Music, Snider described his sonic aim as, "I wanted to put the Ramblin' Jack Elliott in front and then have in the back, like Bootsy Collins and Bernard Purdie." Plus in this latest single he threw in some yodeling for good measure.

With 19 albums now under his belt, Snider has a wealth of material and experiences from which to pull-so much so, it appears, that he can reference his previous works in his new material, as he does in "Stoner Yodel Number One". At one point in the track, Sinder sings, "All you need is a ten and a fiver, a car and a key and a sober driver," an allusion to his popular folktale "Beer Run".
