American electronic duo, Thievery Corporation, announce their newest album, Symphonik, is to be released on Apr. 3, 2020. Simultaneous to the announcement, the duo have dropped their newest single 'Lebanese Blonde', which is also to be featured on their upcoming album.

The newly released song is a rendition from the original, which was released in 2000 on the duo's album, The Mirror Conspiracy. The single is available on all streaming platforms, as well as YouTube.

The song starts off with a sitar, strumming a melodious riff. The beat comes in pleasantly, perfecting accompanying the sitar. To conclude the entrance of the sitar, the instrument is sent to the back, as the vocals take the lead.

It is evident throughout the song the duo was inspired by Indian Carnatic music, and the blend between the two genres give an interesting sound through the song. As the sitar stops, violins and trumpets fill in, essentially blending three genres into one at this point.

As the song ends, the trumpets and violins disappear for the sitar to make one last appearance. The beat continues, as the sitar player jams to the fast-paced beat, as the music fades out.

Symphonik is inspired by a concert played by the duo at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington D.C. The concert had a live orchestra, which essentially inspired the writing for their upcoming album.

Rob Garza, known as the bassist, guitarist and keyboardist for the band, has recently released a music video for his new song, "Where the Moon Hides," on Dec. 27, 2019. The track is featured on his EP, Where the Moon Hides.

Symphonik is currently available to preorder and will be released on all streaming platforms. As of right now, there is no information on a possible tour for the promotion of this upcoming album.
