The day before the performance at Atlas Weekend, Benjamin went to the Exclusion Zone with the team of the ARTEFACT project. He finished making the bit for the song on the way to Prypiat while sitting in the bus. Its base is the 'Sounds of Chornobyl'- a set of sounds recorded in Chornobyl by ARTEFACT artists in 2018, and folk songs of the grandmothers of Chornobyl region.

"I did not know much about Chornobyl, as I was only 3 years old when the accident happened. It happened somewhere far away, in the Soviet Union, and at that time, I did not know there was such a country - Ukraine. Now I see what the Ukrainians had faced and I learned about their act of bravery. The trip made a great impression on me, and I will tell my grandchildren about it!" Benjamin Standford said.

The song, video from the trip and interview with the artist will be one of the exhibits at the international media-art exhibition ARTEFACT: Chrenobyl 33, which, with the help of modern art, redefines the information component of the Chernobyl catastrophe. The exhibition will open in Kyiv at the end of September this year.

As it was reported earlier, the first day of Atlas Weekend music festival was free thanks to the city hall support, according to Mayor of Kyiv Vitaly Klitschko.

Atlas Weekend is one of the biggest music festivals in Eastern Europe. It is held annually in Kyiv in the first half of July since 2015.
