The RBS British LGBT Awards took place in London on Friday night as the annual bash honoured the likes of Sir Ian McKellen and Brian May.

A range of gay stars and 'straight allies' were recognised at the glitzy ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms, with the event hosted by Mel B and Duncan James.

Congratulating all winners, former Spice Girl Mel said: "Every winner and every nominee is incredibly deserving. You are the cool kids and I am proud to be with you celebrating your success with you.

“To win an RBS British LGBT Awards is simply fantastic because the public decides the winners. This is a fantastic event and it is really great to be part of it.”
