KRS-One’s Live Show Is Still #1. Catch This Medley (Video)

The same week he released twelfth solo album Now Hear This, KRS-One performed a homecoming concert at Manhattan’s S.O.B.’s. There, the Boogie Down Productions co-founder freestyled an apology to LL Cool J for a line he spit on the road just days prior. But that wasn’t all. The iconic MC performed many records, including his classics.

Heads from the great website Grand Good were in the building, and captured Blastmasta puttin’ work in. In addition to the aforementioned footage, they captured KRS rocking a strong medley of “South Bronx,” “Step Into A World,” “My Philosophy,” and Channel Live’s “Mad Izm.” KRS-One joined Hakim Green (who he helped discover, produce, and sign) for the heralded 1995 weed anthem.

Before the medley, KRS-One brought Hip-Hop pioneer Grandmaster Caz to the stage. There, he corrected a misnomer in one of the songs he performed, and saluted the MC icon and Cold Crush Brothers co-founder for his massive contributions to the culture. This is part of the recent initiative to properly teach Hip-Hop history by KRS, Crazy Legs, Afrika Bambaataa, and others.

Make sure you check out Grand Good for the latest in pure Hip-Hop.
