Telefis announce Special Report - a collection of remixes and alternative versions of tracks

Following the release of their acclaimed albums a hAon and a Do in 2022, Telefis are set to share Special Report - a 22-track CD and digital release featuring remixes and alternative versions of their tracks. Out on March 3, the collection will include remixes from Maurice and Charles, Jape and more.
Ahead of the release, they've also shared a brand new Jacknife Lee remix of 'The Age Of Cling'.
Telefis, made up of renowned producer Garret "Jacknife" Lee and the late Cathal Coughlan, released a series of EPs as companion pieces to their albums throughout 2021 and 2022, via Dimple Discs. The EPs featured remixes and alternative versions of their tracks, mostly by Jacknife Lee himself, but also by special guests - with the duo collaborating with the likes of Thomas Leer and Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode / Mute Records), as well as Basement Jaxx, Howie B and Andy Meecham, among others.
"We did a lot of work in such a short space of time, Cathal and I," comments Jacknife Lee. "It was an incredible and intense 18 months, running then tumbling down a hill, chasing an idea that thrilled us. We were having a blast and we didn't want to stop, which is why we did these EPs, to live alongside the albums. Some concentrated on the beats, others on the words. I had my Da, my Auntie Joan, and my friend Dan Hegarty's Mom, read a few pieces. Cathal thought this was a little mad at first but then loved it.
"We subsequently got to collaborate with some people that inspired us to think we could have a go at making music in the first place, and also some new artists that inspired us when we became Telefis: Jah Wobble, Will Sergeant, A Certain Ratio, Thomas Leer, Gareth Jones, Andrew Meecham, Basement Jaxx, Jape, Sean O'Hagan, Maurice and Charles, and my mentor and boss from the Pussyfoot days..Howie B!. Some of these tracks got lost in the rush so I'm grateful to Dimple Discs for agreeing to give them the attention we felt they deserved and thank you to the artists that came along with us.
