Michael Franti Returns With Eighth Studio Album “All People” On July 30th

Michael FrantiOne of the most respected, socially active artists in music, Michael Franti returns with the first new single, “I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like),” from his forthcoming eighth studio album. All People (Capitol Records) will be released on July 30th. The fast-paced, rhythmic anthem marks Franti’s first new single in two years, and has moved into the Top 15 on the AAA charts in just 3 weeks, was released digitally on April 30th.


“I’m excited that (I’m Alive) is finally hitting the streets and the ear drums of our fans,” said Franti. “The song is about being your own weird self with the person you love the most and being grateful for every last precious drop of life. It has rocked at our shows and it feels like we recorded a version that puts you right there in the first ten rows.”


All People is about the beauty of diversity, being your authentic self in a crazy world and the infinite power of love,” added Franti. “For everyone that’s been with us for days or decades, I really appreciate the love that you’ve given us. The music is for you and you inspire us.”


Franti’s impressive career spans decades, albums and many achievements. The singer, poet and activist has amassed an extensive and rabid fanbase, and draws sell-out crowds by virtue of his electrifying live shows.


All People follows 2010’s The Sound Of Sunshine, which was the highest Billboard Top 200 Album Chart debut ofFranti’s career. The album was nominated for a 2010 NAACP Image Award and its title track held the #1 spot on Billboard’s AAA Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks. His previous album, All Rebel Rockers, hit the Top 40 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and yielded the certified double platinum smash “Say Hey (I Love You).”


Michael Franti is recognized as a pioneering force in using music as a vehicle for social activism. In the mid-Nineties,Franti formed Spearhead following his punk band The Beatnigs and the hip hop-inflected The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
